Compatibility

Taurus introduced the G3c as a smaller version of the Taurus G3 and an improved version of the G2c. Despite this they are not always compatible when it comes to holsters. The G2c has a completely different slide profile so the G3c will not fit. There is a minor difference in the frames as well. Even though minor they prevent holster compatibility.

We’ve taken these difference into account when designing out holsters so the G3c and G2c share the same holster with a perfect fit. These guns will also work in our G3 holster although the longer G3 will not fit in the shorter G2c/G3c series holsters.

Taurus G3c TORO

Finally Taurus released a red dot ready G3c pistol. Because most G3c Holster designs are based off the G2c those designs and didn’t have an optic cut. So you’ll want to make sure you get a Taurus G3c holster like the singleton which is cut for an optic.

Taurus G3c Concealed Carry Holster

Taurus G3c Holster IWB 13

If you’re carrying a gun concealed it’s very important you find the right holster. The most common and practical holsters are going to be IWB (Inside The Waistband) and OWB (Outside The Waistband). Each has its own set of pros and cons.

IWB Carry

IWB Carry is going to be the best choice for most. Having the pistol inside your waistband keeps it closer to the body. This goes a long way in making the G3c Holster more concealable. You’re likely going to carry at the appendix or right behind the hip. You’ll want different features for both positions.

Universal Features

There are also features that work well for all positions. If you’re carrying an IWB Holster you’ll want to make sure they have these features.

Well Rounded Edges

An inside waistband holster without well-rounded edges isn’t going to be comfortable. When I say well-rounded I’m not talking about the smoothness of the holster itself. I’m talking about the shape of the holster being devoid of pokey and pointy areas. We test all of our IWB designs by prototyping models without buffing the edges to ensure they’re comfortable.

When a trimmed Taurus G3c Kydex Holster comes off the CNC the edges are a perfect 90 degrees and very sharp. So if the holster is still comfortable with those sharp edges you know the design will be comfortable for as many people as possible.

Adjustable Ride Height

Having the ability to adjust the ride height on a holster will help both comfort and concealment. Not all bodies are created the same way. So having the ability to fine-tune the height of the holster lets you dial in the fit to your body type. This is a pro for strongside carry but more of a pro for Appendix Carry. It allows you to find the right compromise between concealment and speed.

Taurus G3c Appendix Holster

If you’re carrying the G3c at appendix you’ll want two main accessories or features on your holster. Those accessories are a Claw or Wing and a holster wedge. One thing you may also want to consider is carrying in a full-length Taurus G3 Holster. The reason for this is the heaviest parts of the gun sit above the beltline.

Gravity has an effect on the gun and will cause it to want to tip away from the body. this makes the gun less concealable and sometimes less comfortable. With shorter holsters, they can create a lot of leverage pressuring the groin. A longer holster helps spread out this pressure. So you might want to try a G3 length holster. As we mentioned earlier not all G3 holsters are compatible with the G3c so if you’re ordering from a different company than Harry’s Holsters you’ll want to email them to verify compatibility.

Claw/Wing

Singleton Taurus G3c AIWB

These devices help you conceal the grip of the gun. When carrying a Taurus G3c at the appendix position or AIWB the grip will stick out a lot unless you have one of these devices. The Wing/Claw works when the belt allies pressure to it pivoting the holster so the grip of the Taurus G3c sits nice and tight to the body. By changing that angle the grip of the G3c will match the angle of your hand when you’re acquiring your grip. It won’t speed things up drastically but it will speed things up just a bit. Small improvements compiled lead to massive improvements.

Holster Wedge

You place the wedge between the bottom half of the holster and your body. It kicks the muzzle out pressing the grip of the gun against the body. If you have a hot spot it can help alleviate it by covering that part of the holster. This is a major benefit for comfort. If you have a holster that isn’t working for you then a wedge might completely change your experience with that holster for the better.

Strong Side and Behind the Hip Carry

If you’re carrying the gun on the side of your body the most effective means of concealment is cant. Everybody is different and optimizing the cant of the holster to your body type and exact carry position is very important. Optimizing the cant will make the gun as concealable as posible. You can also optimize the angle for draw stroke but that will often be a few degrees different than the optimal angle for concealment. Everything is a compromise and in this case, it’s draw speed vs concealment. You’ll have to decide which is more important to you.

OWB Carry

If you’re looking for a Taurus G3c OWB Holster then you’ll want to make sure it’s a design that sits close to the body. The closer it sits to the body the more concealable it’ll be. Sitting tight to the body will also be more comfortable when wearing the holster all day long.

Just like carrying an IWB Holster at 3-5 o’clock adjustable cant will help you conceal the gun better. Most OWB holsters have a ) degree or fixed 15-degree cant. For Concealed carry Adjustable 10-30 degree, cant is ideal. We don’t currently have a holster that meets those standards but we are working on one.
